Loop Church is a contemporary church, rooted in the Reformed tradition. Our services combine contemporary and traditional music and liturgies, and we often consider our place as Christians in the context of our location here in the heart of a major metropolitan center.
A variety of liturgists, musicians, and singers lead our worship services.
On the 3rd Sunday of the month worship includes a 'Mission Moment' to highlight the work of a local, national, or international ministry associated with Loop. Then on the 4th Sunday a special offering taken for the previous week's highlighted ministry.
We conclude each service with the celebration of communion. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, has ordained and instituted the sacrament of communion to nourish and to sustain those who are part of his family, the church. A hot lunch is served at SJOM (website) every day, but for the men who work during the day or have appointments, a fresh supply of bag lunches is needed. If you would like to bring lunch items for the Brown Bag Lunches, please let Mona or Betsy know. Bread, cheese, lunch meat, bags of chips, fruit etc. are all good options. Here is a synopsis of what happens when serving dinner to SJOM residents: It is pretty easy, just show up at around 6:30pm and introduce yourself and sign in with the staff person that sits at the desk in the main room. Then you can help around the kitchen, be proactive and ask what you can do. Sometimes there is additional work you can do for meals the next day ie., cutting veggies, wrapping buns etc. Dinner is served at 7pm. You serve on trays, and then you serve yourself, and talk with the residents. You will be finished around 8pm. The address is 1856 S. Loomis, Chicago.
All baptized believers in Christ may receive the sacrament in the gathering of God's people.

The mission of SJOM (website) is to provide interim housing and supportive services in a caring environment to homeless adult men in the Pilsen community, enabling them to become stable and contributing members of society. On the second Tuesday of the month we will be serving and eating dinner with SJOM participants. We are asking that 3-5 people sign up (click RSVP link below) for this in advance.

There is parking on the street, but read the signs carefully.

SJOM Brown Bagging - May 8, 2011 http://www.loopchurch.org/pro/event_view.cfm?eventid=1020564

LCM has agreed to partner with San Jose Obrero Mission in Pilsen (1856 South Loomis). The mission of SJOM is to provide interim housing and supportive services in a caring environment to homeless adult men in the Pilsen community, enabling them to become stable and contributing members of society. Every second Sunday of the month we will be preparing a week supply (about 30) of Brown Bag Lunches. Lunches will be prepared after the church service.

SJOM Dinner - May 10, 2011 http://www.loopchurch.org/pro/event_view.cfm?eventid=1027416

LCM has agreed to partner with San Jose Obrero Mission in Pilsen (1856 South Loomis).

There is parking on the street, but read the signs carefully.

Worship Service - May 15, 2011 http://www.loopchurch.org/pro/event_view.cfm?eventid=938090 Join Loop for morning worship!
All baptized believers in Christ may receive the sacrament in the gathering of God's people.
